Submissions

The Crossover Alliance accepts physical and digital submissions. For physical submissions, email us to check the status of your submission package. We DO NOT contact the author regarding the actual receiving of physical submissions, only if we are accepting/denying it.

For fiction, we are looking for anything that has Christian themes blended with real-world content. The major genres we are accepting are: thriller, science fiction, fantasy, supernatural, western, mystery, romance, young adult, historical, steampunk. There may be other genres we will accept that are either not listed here or blend some of these genres together. If in doubt, simply contact us or just submit your story.

For non-fiction, we are looking for any kind of testimonial stories, devotionals, or commentaries on the Christian faith, our cultural, or Biblical study.

Please read our Submission Guidelines very carefully. You are responsible for making sure your manuscript is submitted within these guidelines. If it is not, there is a good chance we will deny it without even reviewing it.

If your story is accepted by The Crossover Alliance, you can expect:

  • A ten year publishing contract, at the end of which you can choose to renew with TCA or go your separate way

  • 50/50 publishing royalties

  • Discounts on author copies of your book

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submission Guidelines:

  • Please read About Us for an understanding of what type of work we are looking for.

  • We DO NOT accept AI-crafted material.

  • Do not submit a query for an unfinished manuscript. You may submit a query for the first complete manuscript in an unfinished series.

  • We do accept previously published/self-published stories as long as you currently own the rights to those stories.

  • Submissions can be emailed to submissions@thecrossoveralliance.com, addressing Mr. David Alderman. Please include NOVEL (or NOVELLA) SUBMISSION and the title of your novel/novella in the subject line of your email.

  • Keep in mind that we usually require a 17,000 word minimum for novellas. If the word count of your novella falls below 17,000 words, you might want to consider submitting it for our short-story Anthology which we publish annually.

  • Our word count limit for novels is 50,000 minimum.

  • Submissions should have a Christian theme and may fall within a variety of different genres.

  • All submissions may include ‘edgy’ and mature content, so long as that content is used responsibly toward the story and not for the sheer intention of making the piece ‘edgy’. We have the final say in whether a piece is edgy for the wrong or right reasons.

  • All submissions should hold to central Christian doctrines, and all authors submitting should hold to central Christian doctrines. Central Christian Doctrines are defined as such: the Trinity, the deity of Jesus Christ, the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, the work of Christ on the cross, and salvation by grace through faith. Submissions that do not hold to these central Christian doctrines will be denied.

  • We retain the right to refuse any piece for any reason we see fit.

  • We will contact you if we are interested in seeing your entire manuscript.

Please send us a submission package containing:

  1. A cover letter which includes your name, the title of your story, and a brief bio telling us who you are and what your interests are. Be personable and give us a good idea of who you are as a person, not just a writer. Also include if this is fiction or non-fiction.

  2. A brief synopsis telling us what your story is about, who some of the characters are, and if this is a standalone story or the first in a series. Please also give us an explanation of what makes your book Christian.

  3. The first three to four chapters – or the first fifty pages – of your novel, or the first two chapters – or the first twenty pages – of your novella (if it is not divided into chapters). Read below for formatting requirements.

Please make sure your manuscript submission is formatted as such in a double-spaced Microsoft Word (or Word readable) document:

  • Your font should be a clear and simple one, such as Courier or Times New Roman, size 12 or equivalent.

  • Indent your paragraphs

  • Have page breaks between chapters

  • Include page numbers

  • Do not include a space between paragraphs
